Binding while turning, please help
I just installed Ebiach Sportline springs, bilstien struts, ES bushings(LCA, Sway), LB joints, Outer Ties, Inner Ties, Center link and Idler.
Did all ES bushings in Rear and fab'd a new pan bar.
After my FEA when I turn wheel at slow speeds like i'm turning right from stop sign. If I turn the wheels half way it seems to bind up and jump. Feels like 4x4 with front locked in and trying to turn sharp.
Is this normal....???
Has anyone had this problem...???
I replaced the Stearing box couple years ago.

Mine does that when the tires are cold, but my problem is due to my tires, Nitto 555RII road race tires. When the tires are warmed up it doesn't hop at all when turning from a stop.

The tires are hitting the inner fender when turning.
Becuse of the lowering kit. I could not see this while the wheels are dangling in the air.
I guess the only solution would be to purchase skinner tires....
245 to 235 if I can find em

Something else isn't right. You should be able to run 245's. There are tons of people (including me) that run 245s and larger with sportlines...
Is your steering gear all correct? Lengths and stuff?

I ran 245's with my Sportlines and they were fine.
With the 275's I get some rubbing when turning the wheel to the extremes.

it depends on what stops are in his steering box. My '83 TA and my '87 Formula have the same box ratio, but the '83 has 15" wheel stops and anything wider then the stock 215 65 15's would rub at full lock which is not the case at all on the formula. Running small spacers on the font fixed it but it really isn't a problem anyway.

Maybe they put in a box with the wrong stops when he replaced it a few years ago (never know right?) Does it happen when turning both ways? I'm running 245's on my IROC and with the stock suspension it would rub only when turning one direction. The previous owner had the car aligned at Sears and they didnt align the car to the steering box, they aligned it to the steering wheel (which was put on crooked). So pretty much it turned more to the left than it did to the right. I'm still trying to figgure out how it wasnt hitting a stop.

I never had this happen before I lower'd it. I replaced the steering box with a reman'd cheap one from a local parts store. But, i don't understand how this could be a problem.
I have toss out some pics of where its hitting....

I really don’t follow, why does everyone seem to make that big a deal about a little bit of rubbing there… just don’t crank the wheel all the way over and you’re fine, you shouldn’t be cranking the wheel all the way over anyway, and it’s not like any kind of reasonable action will hurt anything.
