Stalls when I'm driving I think it's iac valve help

I have a 88 gta
I went from a leaking working old stock tpi throttle body to a bbk 58mm one
and immediately I put it on and cold it starts and warms up at 1000 rpm and goes down to 750
but it seemed low
I know my old one was cold 1450 warmed up 750 the seals in my tb were leaking bad
but I havnt barly drove it yet
I took it for a ride and as soon as it gets hot it stalls when I press the clutch in at the lights I have to keep it going gas pedal
now I have a full tank of gas in it
when it's sitting ideling hot it runs forever without stalling
I don't get what's going on
my mom said it stalled randomly when you filled the gas full so she only filled it to half or 3/4 And it went away
the iac is original
is that what I should change first?

Maybe not "change"; instead, maybe "clean" and "set minimum air". There's about a million posts on this site about minimum air, Google the site for it/ (Google search... type in "minimum air" with the quotes, then "site:thirdgen.org" without the quotes.

The IAC doesn't really "go bad" that kind of way. It's more digital... usually either it works, or it doesn't. They do wear out and such as that but it's not common.

I'd try the other first.

For the purpose at hand the engine size doesn't matter. Use 450.

If you have a scanner use iac counts. 20-25 engine warm.

Unless, of course, your camshaft will not allow that RPM, at idle . . . ( He mentioned it was a "modded" 383 ).
