Unknown Wire Connection?
I was working on my 87 Camaro today and noticed an unconncted weatherpack connection between the winshield wiper motor and the distributor cap. I looked for the missing connection but did not see any. The motor is a stock 87 TPI 350 and the connector has one black and one light purple wire. Any ideas?

Thanks. I'll check that as soon as I get home from work today. Would the car run right with the sensor dis-connected?

Look here , I found the same (I think??) connnector on my '87 L98 and it seems that it wasn't used right from the factory. Probably just GM's way of reducing the size of their parts bin to decrease overhead. You'd think they could of still put it on the schematics to keep us from wondering...

Thanks for the post Dustin - I think we are talking about the same thing. I attached a picture as well. My wiper motor cover is removed, but you can see where the mystery 2 prong black and pink connector is.

Hellp Krayende & Dustin,
I just went out to my 89 Iroc and looked around in the area shown in the picture. There is a 3 prong weather pack plug that comes along on the drivers side fender and connects to a pigtail that goes to my windshield washer pump. The three wires that connect to it are purple, yellow, and black.

Trickster,
Are you looking to confirm the three wires that are running into your wiper motor? Unfortunately my 87 is out in the rain now and I have the ignition system apart (Don't want to lift the hood while it's raining!). I'll walk out when it lets up and take a look at the three wires that run into the motor. The wiring diagram in my service manual has a black, purple, and yellow or gray wire running into the wiper motor module.
As far as the wires Dustin and I are talking about, I'll look again and do a better job decribing where the two wires are coming from....

Okay.
On mine, there is a connector with about 6-7 wires going into the side of the wiper motor. The three wires I am talking about go into the base of the wiper motor and connect by a pigtail to another connector that goes into a large wire bundle along the firewall. Two of these wires (yellow & purple) come back out of the wire bundle and go into the connector at the side of the wiper motor. The black wire is a ground. This is the set-up on my car, your's may just have the two prong connector. Here are some of the schematics I have for it.

I have the same black and pink with black stripe two prong weather pack not being used in my 87 iroc 350. I have asked this question before and the general consensus is that it does not get plugged anywhere on our cars. My car runs fine with it unplugged.
