Re: My 3.4 t3/t4 Turbo Build

i see low 12's in ur near future lol, 325rwhp @ 450+ftlbs at low boost should be no problem.

i say it would take right around 12 psi to hit that mark if u decide to turn the boost up above 5-7 psi

Re: My 3.4 t3/t4 Turbo Build

That's such a retarded amount of power for this motor lol but over 300hp and 400tq at the lowest psi is what I was going for.

Hopefully I'll get a dyno run on it n/a soon and we will have a better idea of what kind of power this motor will put out.

Oh yea the motor is balanced to

well look at what my motor did and 3.1L not 3.4
@ 9 psi with some serious issues it made 270/370 rwhp and tq on a mustang dyno

and that was with a high stall converter in the 700r4 and 4:10 rear gears so i lost a good 25% accoring to the dyno operator

u having a 5 speed will put alot more power to the ground and u wont have the ignition timming issues i had

granted that was with a turbo that was 10mm larger but the ebay t3/t4 is capable of about 425-450 flywheel just take a few pounds more boost to make the same numbers as the 60-1

the driver side is going to be pretty much the same as a mid lengh header.
the crossover will run almost in the location of the stock y pipe and come up to meet the turbo header near the firewall leaving enough room for upto a 3.5 inch downpipe

haha those pics are HUGE

how much boost do you think would be safe on that motor? and how much do you think it would take before kaboooom, one high psi run on a dyno might be fun lol

Re: My 3.4 t3/t4 Turbo Build

a as long as u can support the fueling needs to make the power i wouldnt think twice about running as high as 21 pounds, hell ive been over 21 psi with hyperectic pistons.

as long as its tuned right u wont hurt anything

Re: My 3.4 t3/t4 Turbo Build

the old butt dyno couldnt tell you, i tested out a t76/76mm turbo well it was a t6 flanged turbo and didnt spool till 60/70mph it started to pull then blew the tires off the car.

19# injectors will get maxed at around 3-4 psi of boost (190-220hp if we raise the fp a lil bit) i might have a set of 24# injectors here which playing wit the fuel presure we can get u to about 280hp at the crank
in all honesty u need some 36.6 or 42 pound injectors and even at that i would say go right for a set of 50# injectors if u can find some this way it leaves u room to grow
if u look around u can find used sets real cheap

Re: My 3.4 t3/t4 Turbo Build

I'm at a 175 shot of n20 on a mostly stock 2.8 without a problem yet, using junkyard injectors no less. If you want to cheap out look for jy supercharged 3800's. SCC's have 28 lb/hr and buicks have something like 34 lb/hr. Search for a list of injectors by car & flow rating at one of those reman injector websites so you know what to look for at the jy.

Re: My 3.4 t3/t4 Turbo Build

i havent cheaped out to much on this thing so far i probably wont start now, our junkyards here suck now, they are basically all chop shops... any fuel injected motor is pulled before it even hits the yard.

i think southbay charges 90 for cleaning so yeah it would be cheaper but not by to much.. bout 150ish before shiping there and back, so id save a bit under 100 bucks. bad thing though is if i get them send them to clean and they are crap im out 50 bucks and shipping.

i sent my old 3.4 17lbs injectors for test and clean and they were craptastic, kinda figured they were though

i sent southbay a message though to get a couple prices...who knows maybe they will cut me a deal on my second set in 6 months lol

Re: My 3.4 t3/t4 Turbo Build

dont go any smaller then the 42's those will be good for 420 crank hp or if u raise the base fp u can get about 460 out of them, they will give u about 60 hp leway to play with if u want to push the motor a lil harder then say 10-12 psi

Re: My 3.4 t3/t4 Turbo Build

to be honest im not sure but i belive its a matter of swapping out the guts im not really sure
I have a set ( 48lb Bosch, design III, EV1 (square plug) injectors. They were 19s that I had modified by FIC. They were all flowed, cleaned and replaced all the outer parts. They were ran for a couple of tuning sessions then realized they were way too small for e85. If you want a stock looking injector then these are it.

$100 +actual shipping.
is what he says

ima drop the site admin a pm now for ya as well

And (for project89 as well) what fuel pump are you running?

In this case, you sort of read right and wrong, as even though your looking for a one pound increase in fuel pressure with every one pound of boost, once you pass 0 vacuum, the regulator, although will continue to rise in pressure because it has no choice, does not keep up with the actual fuel requirement needed once you hit boost. Stock ECM's usually have about a 6% threshold in which it can correct for, which is why many people will assume that your safe up to 6-psi, but at 6-psi though, it will not be able to correct simply because its within its threshold when you do that math, as there is a little more to it than that. Scalers need to be altered, and pulse width needs to be adjusted for the ECM to correct properly at 6-psi of boost....

good deal be sure to post up lots of pics

and 48#'s will not be over kill if u had a stock engine then yes maybe they would be,but u have a built motor and should be capable of maxing those injectors if u put a larger turbo on it down the road, the turbo ur geting now is capable of about using 80-90% of those injectors

Re: My 3.4 t3/t4 Turbo Build

well everything seems to be in good shape, the bov had some rust on one of the parts, i suppose from sitting on a shelf maybe, didnt look installed at all.

the turbo said AR 50 on it like another one i read about on here, right one if i remember correctly.

intercooler is a pretty good size, its like 3in thick and pretty long, hope that fits where it needs to go, ill probably mock that up this weekend to make sure

Re: My 3.4 t3/t4 Turbo Build

A tip I read once is to use marine grade injectors, marine grade parts are built to better standards then regular auto stuff.

Was one of those stock build ups and they couldn't get bigger ones or its not stock, but marine grade stock sizes ones were able to do what stock sized reg ones couldn't.

2.5-3 inch coupler for throttle body connection
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3-0-2...item3efff3ed2e

other then that u need the ecu, and were about good to go

btw pick up some wire loom for the ecu wiring harness

Re: My 3.4 t3/t4 Turbo Build

no problem

any suggestions for boost gauge? and pillar?

i would guess that within the month ill have all the parts, minus the ecm still undecided what im going to do there.

i emailed the guy on ebay with the flanges to see if he can save me some money on shipping if i get both from him.

i may put up a complete parts list with links at the top of the tread sometime tonight for anyone that wants it
