Complete 1991 TPI 5.7 engine, 60k miles!

My dad recently passed away, and this was an engine he had squirreled away for a swap that never happened. I pulled it from a wrecked, low mileage '91 Z/28 back in the late '90s, and it has sat under...

Re: badist of the bad

It definitely must have been hurting the HP, but I think the real issue was the tune. It was pig rich. Trueleo supplied a couple of chips, but they were never right (we didn't have the capability to...

Re: badist of the bad

Yeah, a cracked head prompted the last major re-do; I had everything out. The whole drivetrain, wiring, plumbing...all of it. Last I saw the car, it basically just lacked re-plumbing and finishing up...

Re: New or rebuild?

If you are on a budget, why not just get a good, low mileage used 3.4 from a salvage yard, with a guarantee, and swap it in? Its an easy swap, will give you a good torque boost, and it will be...

Re: badist of the bad

Its been so long that I can't remember (I did most of the mechanical work on that car) the exact hp/torque figures, but I'm pretty sure the HP was higher than that. It was still on a stock tune,...

Re: TCI Street Fighter Transmission

If it states it will bolt to a 60 degree motor, it will work...but why would you want an early 27 spline trans? They are junk. Get an 87-up core, and have it rebuilt locally.
