I had ram air boxes fabbed up that look just like the hawks version. Really surprising how much of a difference that made with all the restrictions removed.

its not all that hard to bark the tires on a gearshift with a manual.
If your "full bolt on" L98 doesnt bark going into second you have really great tires or dont have a shift kit of any kind.

the strut bar? Stiffens up the front of the car, and improves handling. If you dont already have them i would do a wonder bar and subframe connectors (SFCs) first.

As far as drivetrain efficiency goes FWD > RWD > AWD. yeah AWD does drain a considerably higher amount of hp thanks to friction.

More gear and stall on the LS1 car will make a huUUge difference. But without em id give the race to you. Basically its a stock car with exhaust(+LT's) and the fast intake. Should be a high 12 second...

5.3 : 1600
6.0 : 1800
If the price spread was like that id spend the extra coupe hundred on the 6.0. Or atleast the 5.3

its a v6 fullsize extended cab pickup... with twice the mileage you have.

A PI mustang should be faster then a stock l98. By about half a second in the 1/4.
hes got a 14 flat car. Your more then likely a 14.5 car. Assuming your friend can drive.

In short it wont work. The ls1 heads are incompatible with any previous generation block. And FYI LS1's are 346 cubic inches not 350.

a converter with a little more stall along witht the aforementioned mods (cam gears and car) will make a very big difference. (assuming your automatic)

not til 99. 98 had the NPI heads and cam.
My stock longblock L98 (gears exhaustand corvette converter) destroyed NPI cars
and holeshot then slowly walked PI mustangs.

Hell beat you by atleast a second. He does have a slushbox so with a shift kit headers y pipe and 3 inch exhaust you might stand a chance.
He has a much lighter car with a much more performance...
