for your viewing pleasure. The Twin turbo firefox had about 605hp and 700lbs/ft torque. According to the article it was unofficially built to break the 200mph barrier.

Wonder what pontiac they're talking about then. They list one bird that has 605hp and 700lbs/ft. And its twin turbo. I was under the impression that this was the original firefox.

Hey! - that pic posted by easySPEEDcamaro
that's Bill Futch's car. At little old Immokole none the less... Anyhow, just thought I'd add that that car made over 1900HP at 6200 on the dyno, and they had to shut it down to not hurt the dyno. The motor turns to over 7,000! - I run w/ Don Cooper, and all those guys race together. - As for the intercooler, it's ice water pumped in from a rear mounted ice tank. That's a 10.5in tire car, Drag Race only. He's running 7's in the quarter...

Turbos are not only expensive to build, but they are also expensive to maintain too, especially when your engine blows up becuase you try to dial in too much boost, but then again the experts are well aware of it. I only like the turbo setups that are "streetable." Still impressive none the less, but I think the blue Firebird is more realistic to own and maintain.
