5th gen iroc-z
found this over at Camaro5.com and all credit goes to brjray
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...highlight=IROC
i know its more of a base camaro/RS look, other than IROC down the side in the first pic
i also know that IROC is dead and the name should be left on the 80's IROC's but i think the front end looks pretty sick on these 5th gens, makes them look better IMO
heres the second pic, go to the like for the original post
Mods please move if i put this in the wrong board, just figured maybe somebody would modify the 5th gen to look like this
i think if they added a Z-28 grill and rectangular marker lights(make the fog lights in the pic rectangular) it would be spot on and look awesome

Re: 5th gen iroc-z
Has anyone had the idea of making the third gen look like the new ones, I've noticed that they have some similar body lines

Re: 5th gen iroc-z
sorry i missread the post, but i would love to see a pic of a 3rd gen turned into a 5th, no doubt it would not look good seeing as the thirdgen has the best style of f-bodies

Re: 5th gen iroc-z
Hmm, I don't hate it.. But I dont like it. I barely like the new Camaro's as it is.. So.. Idk. It does make it look meaner, but its bringing back to much of the third gen style, as mentioned in previous posts, I think thirds gen's should have the third gen styling, not 5 gens.

Re: 5th gen iroc-z
Well the 5th generation Camaro was designed to look more like a 1st generation car first and foremost. With the exception of the down syndrome stricken Corvette tail lights I think they did a pretty good job. Adding styling cues from a 3rd generation car doesn't really help improve anything.

Hey hotrod.com has an artist rendering of a third gen with a 5th gen body kit on it. Its pretty sweet if you ask me. Here's the link:

I actually like that alot!!! Theres so much endless possibilities on what they can do next. Its really good to see that the Camaro can survive another 20 yrs if they decide to continue them.

Re: 5th gen iroc-z
I hate the third gen'ish tail lights. Not an attractive feature. Then again I've always hated the Camaro's tail lignts. Especially the fact that they are multi-colored. Beyond that the scoops on the side are retarded. Body kits have never done it for me in general. This car just looks like more overcooked Uncle Bens crap. The body kit and other changes literally ruin the lines of the car for me.

Re: 5th gen iroc-z
i think if they were to make an iroc camaro it would be a new gen style were the car was so futuristic it would look like a car that is out of this world and have just the right lines. make em a lil smaller too. and some sort of removable top/s?

That's not even a real car. It's a bad Photochop job from the looks of it.

I see a lot of Mustang when I look at that picture.. The lights aren't quite doing it for me but the scoops are sort of nice. I think they should bring back the '70's front fender scoops.

I know that there are people who probably feel the opposite way I do. They hate the Firebird and the Camaro is 10x better in their eyes. Plus it seems like there are millions of Camaros and FAR less Firebirds. The Camaro is like the Mustang in the fact that there are so many of them out there and everyone seems to have one, or has had one in the past. Of course production numbers do indicate that there are in fact FAR more Camaros out there across all generations of their co-existence.

Re: 5th gen iroc-z
Actually I don't really care for the third generation Camaro at all. I like them better than the second generation cars, but that isn't saying much. Excluding the first generation cars, I have always thought the Camaro looked terrible compared to their Firebird counterparts. There are a few here and there that I think are really good looking cars, but I can't imagine I'd ever buy one. I think the best looking Camaros at equal an average Firebird at best. To me it as if they took the Firebird's lines, then ruined them to create the Camaro. Then they gave the ******* treatment to the interior. The door panels are always hideous, the seats are more bland and lack the adjustments of the Firebird seats, etc.

i like the 1st and 3rd gen Camaros better than firebirds
but i like 2nd and 4th gen Firebirds way better than camaros
their are a few 3rd gen firebirds i think are pretty killer especially the flat nosed TA's, and i like the 1st gen bird too
on the 4th gen side of things, the Firebird has always won IMO on looks, i only hold the 98-02 Camaro and Transam at the same level(but the Transam will always still win in the looks catagory in my eyes), but from 93-97 it was Firebird all the way
and i always thought the camaro was designed first in every generation?
wouldnt that mean that Pontiac took the Camaros lines and made them better? lol

Re: 5th gen iroc-z
Pontiac from the very beginning was built after Chevrolet. GM took Chevy cars and trucks and add special features like chrome and A/C etc. So technically, the Firebird was built after the Camaro. They took the Camaro lines and altered them slightly giving them more options, a different nose, and slapped FIREBIRD emblems all over it. Pontiac is a luxury Chevy. It's the literally the middle ground between Chevy and Cadillac.

Re: 5th gen iroc-z
True maybe that's why Pontiac got the axe, GM did not need a dolled up Chevy. I always thought the big three wasted a lot of money in duplicates. Oh well even the German and Japanese manufacturers are following the same business model. So many cars are rebadged something else.
The thing is, look at it this way. A customer doesn't like a chevy model of a car, so he drives down to the ford dealership and buys a ford. OR GM makes many variations of a car, to help keep that customer happy in the GM dealer.
For example, I don't like thirdgen camaros. At all. I think they are super fugly.. But I really really like third gen firebirds.
but anyway, don't really see 'fabrication' in this thread, so I'm closing it.
