5.3 Accessories

I am receiving my 2006 5.3 vortec at the end of this month, I've been doing a TON of searching on here and found about 90% of the info I needed to know. I do have one question about the choice of accessory drives, I know I will have to go with F-body accessories but I found an accessory drive kit that GM sells. The part number for this kit is #19155066

It includes:
12578548 Bracket-Air Conditioning
89023451 Compressor-Air Conditioning
12595289 Tensioner-Air Conditioning Belt
12578549 Belt-Air Conditioning Compressor
12578551 Bracket-Power Steering Pump
21997867 Pump-Power Steering
12578552 Pulley-Power Steering Pump
21997866 Reservoir-Power Steering Pump
21997868 Hose_Power Steering Fluid Reservoir With Clamps
12578550 Bracket-Generator
25766345 Generator
12568996 Pulley-Belt Idler
12569301 Tensioner-Drive Idler
12578553 Belt-Water Pump/Generator/Power Steering

All for a little over $700 on GMPartsdirect.com

I cannot post pics of the accessory drive right now because i'm at work but if you go to crateenginedepot.com and type that part number in, it will show you a picture. It says it's a CTS-V design but it looks just like the f-body setup, does anyone know if this will work?

Thanks, Dan

The truck stuff will work, you just have to notch the inner structure of the hood for the alternator.

Dunno if this applies to you, but GM just released 2 more versions of that, only without the A/C stuff. Saves a couple hundred dollars.

Heh - actually no. Not unless you're looking at some vastly different "truck stuff" than what I've been working with...

Thanks for the help everyone! Dan

It worked on the 91 camaro I'm doing the swap in. The hood doesn't go straight across the fenders, it is bowed slightly. I was able to shut the hood even before notching it but the alternator rubbed.

Re: 5.3 Accessories

Does anyone have any info on what size drill bit and tap I need for the alternator bracket?

Thanks, Dan
