I think painting is the way to go. Much easier to care for the paint and you don't have to worry about replacing again when they start to peel.

Check out Pacific Fabrication in Gilroy. They swapped out my 5.0L with a pump 5.7L and did a great job. They prep cars for the track, LS1 swaps, suspension, brakes you name it.

Great combination... SD Vortec TPI intake, 350 roller block, headers and stock TPI and it runs like a beast. Sure beats the hell out of my old stock...

Have you tested you injectors. Low resistance or shorts sometimes occurs when the engine gets hot. Measure the resistance of each injector. Should be around 16 Ohms I believe.

I've already replaced plugs, plug wires, coil and distributor and set the timing and it's still not running real strong. All the injectors were replaced 2 years ago so they shouldn't be the problem....

GM Sport Salvage in San Jose has plenty of LS1 calipers to chose from. I picked up a set from them last year for $200 that I cleaned up, powder coated, rebuilt and installed on my vert....

Look to upgrade to LS1 brakes in the front. I did mine last year and they came out great.
If you can find a decent set of LS1 brakes at the junk yard and rebuild them yourself you'll save big $$.

No issues with the braided stainless steel lines. I modified the bracket that held the old brake lines to the shock so it holds the new brake lines in place and everything stays clear of the wheel.

My best mod was subframe connectors. Really made a big difference in how the car handled. After doing suspension mods to improve the ride, brakes are next on the list followed by performance mods....
