Re: Overheating in 5-10 minutes!

To check for vacuum leaks: Start by checking the connections of all your vacuum hoses. Old lines often crack at the or near the connections. Then visually inspect the full length of each vacuum hose...

Re: no v6 for sale section?

Not sure, but I think there are a couple of reasons why there's no sales forum strictly for V6s. First, many parts are interchangeable between V8 & V6 vehicles such as interior, body, suspension, and...

Re: New owner help

With that many miles, the engine is probably loose. You might consider using heavier weight 20W50 oil which helps tighten up things in the engine. Being in Canada, I'm sure you'll probably install a...

Heavier Sway Bars

I put heavier sway bars on the front and rear which made a big improvement in handling. Trans Am birds have stouter stock sway bars than our stock V6's. If anyone is interested, I noticed a 1991...

Re: Putting into storage for 12 months - what to do?

It wouldn't hurt to put some gas stabilizer or Sea Foam in the fuel tank. 12 months storage isn't that long, but "project cars" often take a lot longer than we estimate ("been there, done that, &...

Re: 3.1 Oil pressure?

I've never noticed my oil pressure going up and down depending on acceleration or cold start. But, if it's really cold out, it takes a second before the gauge gets up to its normal level.

Re: 89 v6 cutting hole for fuel pump access help please

You can get a T5 rebuild kit for about $200 on Ebay. Or you can do an Internet search and find a lot of rebuilt T5's ($399 to $1,700). You might also find a used T5 with an Internet search.
