Re: T56 Trans from 1994 Trans-Am

Right now I was just thinking about the trans, let me see what we can part with. Yes, I can ship. There is a Roadway near me.

T56 Trans from 1994 Trans-Am

T56 Trans from 1994 Trans-Am CMC2 car. 120k miles, works perfect. I'm going to a 1993 trans. $1200 OBO. Trans in car for the next week or so if locals want to check it out. I am near Woodland, CA...

Re: Need info on Dana 44

Why sell it? Plenty of parts available for it and with forged axles pretty much impossible to break unless you are putting a rocket engine in it!

Re: Need info on Dana 44

I'm lucky enough to have one of these GM Parts Dana 44s under my '91 Formula. I mean really lucky! I first put the rear in my 1984 Trans-Am for road-racing in the Camaro Mustang Challenge. When I...

Re: Build for NASA CMC

GMan, great job! Don't worry, you'll get faster as you get more experience. You're giving up many feet of track on turn in (called pinching the turn)...work on getting as close to the edge of the...

Re: V6 handling Vs V8

I happen to be a long-time CMCer and have driven the 3rd gen platform extensively in that series out West. I have been to California Speedway with CMC twice, once with my 3rd gen 1984 Trans-Am and...

Re: Build for NASA CMC

That's great Gary! What a nice lookin' ride too. My first intended race car was an '84 Z28, brings back some good memories for me. Your car reminds me of Nick Steel's 3rd gen Camaro that he won the...

Re: Has anyone seen a Firehawk

I could see myself owning one of the Firehawk race cars as I live near a very nice track (Thunderhill Park). I would love to take it out on open track days (non-racing) and I'm sure some race groups...

Re: Need info on Dana 44

Axles on the 44s are weak at the flange; best to replace them with some quality aftermarket units. I had a failure at 100mph in my 3rd gen road race car with the stock axles, the whole wheel came...

Re: Build for NASA CMC

That is a TA- I got in a crash and my spare front was from a Formula. It was nicer with the brake ducting! I got tons of pix of this car. The loops are new for this year, those are tow hooks - rated...

Re: Need info on Dana 44

I had one I obtained from someone who ordered it brand new as a GM special parts order back when you could get them new. Put it in my '84 Trans-Am CMC road race car. I finally settled on a Detroit...

Re: Build for NASA CMC

A few tips on the stickerage, since that can be done wrong! Make sure you read the rules on where and what size everything should be. Bigger numbers on the doors are better.

Re: Crash Pics, is this thing even worth fixing?

Good idea to see what the surface offers you in a safe place. The only problem with that thought is public roads, even race tracks, collect water in different places and different types of pavement...

Re: Crash Pics, is this thing even worth fixing?

F-bods do not like rain and hydroplane like crazy. That big fat surface contact patch f-bod tires have becomes a liability in any degree of wetness. 70 mph sounds too fast in the wet if there is any...

Re: my 91

Car looks great! Did you get most of your interior stuff from the boneyards or from aftermarket places? My car belonged to a smoker and they did not treat the interior that nice.

Re: my 91

Nice looking car - tip for you though, take photos from the side where the sun is shining, not the shadow. We can't appreciate the car fully as a lot of the detail here is lost in the shadow.

Re: Has anyone seen this '92 Formula 350

Indeed, I prefer a manual! I did buy an '89 Formula 350 new. That was a hard choice back then, manual and 305 or auto and 350! Good guess on the reserve. Sure looks to be in good condition!

Re: LT1 rear brakes on Dana 44?

Re: 91 Formula:cut springs problem

You don't cut springs, this changes the rate as well as lowering. I have not heard of this ending well. Just go to someone like Stranoparts.com and get the proper rate and height springs.
