IROCThe5.7l,did you port the HSR for your 427 build and how well does it match up to the afr220 heads?Are the 220's street port or comp port?Should be a strong runner,with a nice power curve...

Lets remember that the dyno isn't the end all thing....its gotten big over the years especially with the lsx crowd,but the track will tell the truth,and I think this set-up with the right...

Comparing the older 421 to yours I would say you have the potential to make a good 50-60+rwhp over the older 421....maybe more..if you make an honest 550 chp,and I think you should,after driveline...

BTW this forum is loaded with poorly matched set-ups with cheap cylinder heads compounded with poor tuning.. there are quite a few sbc on other sites that make 450-500 rwhp,running great times, that...

Be careful with the rwhp claims on cammed ls1's...more are making 400rwhp now with larger cams but are losing low end..these 400+ rwhp cars are not really much faster than the 380rwhp cars a couple...

Even if aan engine is not seeing super high rpm's I would think that the lighter valves would still be better for the long haul....GM thinks so since they put the light 8mm valve in there ls3 that...

There have been a couple members on here hit high 12's on motor only with a heads/cam 305 tpi..A head/cam 350 tpi should run 12's all day..enough people have proven that,and the ones who can't have...

There are 305's with just heads/cam hitting 12's ...with bolt-ons spray you should be close...like I said in the other post if you want to do a bigger motor down the road save on the heads and cam...

Any tuning? The heads are a choke point for sure...and with the mini-ram not matching to the heads makes it worse..will be a nice set-up once you switch over to afr's and more cam.

Your sig says 470 at the motor...did you dyno the engine/car?

470 crank is 380-390ish or so at the wheels with the 700r4(give or take)...and...

Sounds like a decent set-up..L98 aluminums could be a cheap option...

The car will run rich without the maf plugged in since the ecm has no clue what is really happening so it adds fuel to be safe...it is okay to run it forawhile with the maf unplugged but I wouldn't...
