Comparing the older 421 to yours I would say you have the potential to make a good 50-60+rwhp over the older 421....maybe more..if you make an honest 550 chp,and I think you should,after driveline...

Be careful with the rwhp claims on cammed ls1's...more are making 400rwhp now with larger cams but are losing low end..these 400+ rwhp cars are not really much faster than the 380rwhp cars a couple...

Even if aan engine is not seeing super high rpm's I would think that the lighter valves would still be better for the long haul....GM thinks so since they put the light 8mm valve in there ls3 that...

There have been a couple members on here hit high 12's on motor only with a heads/cam 305 tpi..A head/cam 350 tpi should run 12's all day..enough people have proven that,and the ones who can't have...

There are 305's with just heads/cam hitting 12's ...with bolt-ons spray you should be close...like I said in the other post if you want to do a bigger motor down the road save on the heads and cam...

Any tuning? The heads are a choke point for sure...and with the mini-ram not matching to the heads makes it worse..will be a nice set-up once you switch over to afr's and more cam.

You mentioned eldelbrock longtubes as a current mod....I didn't know they made longtube headers....unless you misprinted.

There's a sticky in the TPI section a 383 HSR/ mini-ram setup did 500 crank @6000rpm with trickflows and a 236/240 cam....I don't know the head specs But I don't think they were very big heads...

The car will run rich without the maf plugged in since the ecm has no clue what is really happening so it adds fuel to be safe...it is okay to run it forawhile with the maf unplugged but I wouldn't...
