well i have had my NX kit for about a year now.. bottle is in the back/trunk area like most of them i see. im just wondering if u should more it to the "hump" part by the back seat area.. or should i just leave it be. i really dont use it enough to want to move it up front.. and i dont want to buy a remote bottle opener either... but sometimes i wish i had it up front so i can turn it on "if" i needed to.. any comments on if i should move it up front.. and if u have any pics of urs up front please post.

if your back seat is out(top part) i would mount it there against the part that the top sits against(upward metal part of floorpan)
that way you can reach it but if a cop pulls you over you can quickly turn it off and purge it out

If you don't need to move it forward, then don't. With it mounted in the back seat area, It is more accessible to sunlight, which doesn't make a nitrous bottle very happy. My opinion is to leave it in the well where it is.
Junior Member
throw a blanket over top of it unless you live in the middle of the freaking desert and then you should never leave it in the car

i had one in the well for awhile....it worked alright but not nearly as effective as one pointed in the right direction with the valve facing forward.
i have both of them up on the deck now, not practicle for daily driving which i don't leave them in anyhow but excellent for shows and track use.

Pics of mine:
Not visible when the carpet and plastics are in the car.
I just saw that you stated you want pics of bottles in the front of the car, I will leave mine up. It seems like you are asking for trouble if:
A: Potential thieves can look into your car and see your bottle
B: Cops can see your bottle if you ever get pulled over
C: Your bottle is where passengers can mess with it

DEAR GAWD NO!
you need to get one of those little homo trailers like the other road racers haul behind thier miatas.
or
go drag racing the "pair" of tires fits without folding it down

Ha ha, that's funny.. This is a purpose built car, it goes fast.. If I want to lug lumber, engines or anything else home, I'll take one of my other cars that doesn't get 2 mpg to do it with..Originally posted by MrDude_1

then again, you dont have a convertible.. no sun worries on the seat either i suppose....
mines a daily driver.... so i keep the seat available.

The only people that can even fit in the back seat of our cars are either 5 year olds or midgets! Ha, it would be pretty funny to see a midget in there.

) they usually have a friend or two with them... even if its not the most comfortable space, its not that bad.and 3 seasons out of the year, (im in the south) the top is down, so other then a lil wind, its not bad at all.. unlimited headroom, and as long as the seat isnt ALL the way back, even i fit snugly back there (im 6'1)
then again wake up call to everyone that DOESNT use the 2+2 setup...
you're driving the wrong car.... you would be faster, and save weight if you didnt have that extra foot and a half of car behind you...

Supreme Member
may be faster but can't possibly look as good.
my cage restricts anyone safely sitting in the back so it's no longer an option unless your 3' tall.

Hrm, right off the top of my head, I would say remove your carpet and mark your bracket holes somehow on the deck. Take a bolt with the head cut off, or threaded rod, and weld it to the marked spots.. Your brackets will slide over and then you can bolt em down.. Depending on how your brackets are made, you could weld nuts to the deck and use precisly cut bolts to connect the brackets to the deck..Originally posted by Kandied91z

Just some thoughts,
Supreme Member
interesting idea. the above picture looks as if there is a plate they are mounted to but that idea would work as well.
Supreme Member
just mount it right behind the drivers seat(right where people feet would go) and have some carpet or similar covering that can go over it
Member
I had my bottle mounted on the centre hump for a while, and found the best way to hide it from plain view was to buy a cheap gym bag, and cut a hole in the bottom of it and slip it over the bottle.
I may very-well have got the idea off this very forum, i honestly cant remember, but i know its saved my *** a few times.

take your gas tank out, mount the bottles, put your gas tank back in.Originally posted by Kandied91z

Im not sure how much clearance there is between the gas tank and the body, but assuming there is an inch or two, use some short bolts and weld the nuts to the underside of the body so if you want to, you can take the brackets out without dropping the tank again.
Supreme Member
i hate making new holes in the body though....all good ideas, but i want to avoid any holes if possible. well seeing as how the top deck area is quite popular i've decided to move them to where the rear seats use to be. since i no longer have them it will be easier to reach as well as more out of sight.
now i just have to figure out how to mount them there.

Jeff, do like people mount amps.
Pull your carpet up. and cut a piece of MFD the sive of the area back there.. put it under the carpet. Then you have a good foundation to drill in with out worries. and its under the carpet and cut to size Its not gona move.

hi, i dont have my iroc yet but I always go on the board to "brush" up on iroc information. while reading the post i saw raven90iroc said it saved his ***. does he mean from other racers finding out he is running nitrous or by the cops? if by the cops, is it illegal or just not a good thing for a cop to see especially being pulled over for a speeding ticket? albert III
Supreme Member
nitrous typically in just about all cases is illegal on the street. if insurance finds out your running nitrous you will be dropped as well. however this is most cases, roughly 98%.
Supreme Member
Just stick it in the spare tire well and run the line up under the plastics. I got mine all the way down under the fenderwell plastic and down to the passenger side where I removed the doorsill trim piece, ran the line and re-installed the line under the plastic, behind the passenger side footwell plastic and up though the firewall to the engine bay. Easy, simple setup and undetectable as long as you keep the hood shut and the spare tire well cover on.
