actually I did this swap 2 years ago I used an 83 s10 carb, intake and distributor. you should not have to mess with the front accessory brackets at all im still running my factory 1987 accessories....

look behind the drivers kick panel for the neutral safety switch wiring, for that all you need is the little plunger type switch that attaches to the clutch brake pedal bracket.

I mean if budget isnt a problem then go with the fpr but all it would take is dropping the tank and removing the elec fuel pump and replacing it with a piece of fuel line the same length as the fuel...

Me personally, I would get the starter and flywheel situation took care of before I did any wiring or anything else, simply because waiting until you've got the engine in and all wired up then...

well i ordered a flywheel for my bird and there is a difference a huge difference actually the s10 flywheel was 3/4 of an inch where as the firebird flywheel was 1 1/2 thick! just thought i would...

actually go to a salvage yard and find an s10 or older 2.8 and pull the bolts out of it thats what i did, a wire brush and they look good as new and have a normal bolt head on them,and are the right...

actually I found that you can do the swap you need a clutch disc from a 97 s10 4 cylinder, use the pressure plate,tob,and fork from a v6 and then you gotta find the pilot bearing with the correct id...

I would put the timing chain on it and see if it will run first before I worried about cleaning it up cause really if the motor's no good and you rebuild the machine shop will clean the engine block...

My Bird did that last summer and come to find out it was the coil, and the old one still sparked, but I replaced it on a whim and the car ran superb and yes mine had the same symptoms as yours
